Pharmacy professionals get their say on training and career development

Pharmacy professionals in the Midlands and East of England are being encouraged to complete a survey as part of a pilot study to improve their training and career development.

Launched by Health Education England (HEE), the survey aims to understand the training and development needs of pharmacy professionals.

HEE are keen to hear from professionals in all sectors of pharmacy, and especially those working in community pharmacy and primary care networks, to ensure their needs are incorporated in future training and development strategies.

The survey is open to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, their line managers, employers, and training providers based in the Midlands and East of England NHS regions.

The survey closes on Friday 21 October 2022.

The results of the survey will help HEE develop clear and consistent training options and career development pathways for pharmacy professionals in England, according to the NHS body.

Matt Aiello, programme lead at HEE, commented: “This survey will be vital in helping us understand sector-wide experiences and future aspirations for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians regarding post-registration education and training.

“The findings from the pilot will help to shape education and training support for pharmacy professionals going forward. We are particularly keen to hear from community pharmacy and PCN teams and their line managers, employers and training providers.”

As well as the survey, HEE are offering opportunities for pharmacy professionals to take part in roundtable discussions to share their views. To find out more and to complete the survey, click here.
